Get a Library Card

Library Card.png

At the New Port Richey Public Library, we want everyone in our community (and beyond) to have a library card. That's why we make at as easy as possible to get one — you don't even need to live in the City of New Port Richey!

To get a library card, adults (18 years and older) need to provide a photo ID and proof of current address, if it is not on the photo ID. You may bring a recent piece of mail with your name and current address on it. If you do not have proof of address, please see a library staff member for accepted alternatives, or call (727) 853-1279. If you don't have a photo ID or proof of address, you can still get a courtesy card.

Members under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present to accept legal responsibility for full access cards. The responsible parent or legal guardian must either already have a NPR Public Library card or obtain one and connect it to the minor's account. If a parent or legal guardian is not present, members under 18 may obtain a limited access card.

All Pasco County residents, along with those who pay property taxes to the city of New Port Richey, local government employees, and members of libraries who have a reciprocal borrowing agreement with your NPR Public Library may be issued a card at no charge.

Keep in mind, the New Port Richey Public Library is not a part of the Pasco County system. We do, however, honor county cards for the issuance of one of ours.

Can't make it to the Library? You can now sign up online for an eCard, which gives you access to all of our digital content, including thousands of e-books, audiobooks, magazines, movies, and music. Anyone living in Pasco County can receive an eCard.

If you have an existing library account, you do NOT need an eCard. Please contact us if you need assistance signing in to your account. Sign up using the link below.
