Tax Forms
• The Library offers 1040 and 1040-SR (large print) tax forms along with instruction booklets. These are the only forms and booklets available at the Library.
• Additional instruction booklets, forms, and schedules can be downloaded as PDFs from the IRS Forms, Instructions & Publications website.
• To request tax materials by mail at no cost, visit the IRS Forms and Publications by U.S. Mail website or call 1-800-829-3676.
• Tax forms can also be printed at the Library for $0.15 per page.
Important Filing Dates
January 27, 2025 - The IRS will begin to file federal tax returns.
May 1, 2025 - The deadline for filing 2024 federal tax returns for Florida residents (without an extension).*
October 15, 2025 - The deadline for filing 2024 tax returns with an extension.
*Due to the impacts of Hurricane Milton, the Internal Revenue Service announced that Florida taxpayers now have until May 1, 2025 to file various federal individual and business tax returns and make tax payments.
Tax Assistance
AARP Tax Aide
The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program offers free in-person and virtual tax assistance, with a special focus on taxpayers aged 50+ and those with low-to-moderate income. You can find nearby locations using the AARP Tax-Aide Site Locator.
The AARP also offers online and phone-based tax assistance. You can schedule an appointment through their online tax assistance form or by calling their toll-free number at 1-888-687-2277.
United Way of Pasco County - VITA
The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help for taxpayers whose household income is less than $100,000 per year.

File Your Taxes Online
IRS Free File
The IRS offers Free File for individuals with incomes under $79,000 through partner companies. This program allows you to prepare and file your federal individual income tax return online at no cost, using guided tax preparation software provided by a third-party partner of your choice. IRS Direct File
The IRS has introduced a new pilot program called Direct File, now available in Florida and other select states. This free service lets you file your 2024 federal tax return directly with the IRS, without the need for third-party software or websites. The program is currently limited to filers with relatively simple tax returns, including specific types of income and a limited range of credits and deductions.
